Sewage Treatment Plant Switch Room Access
Sewage Treatment Plant Switch Room Access
Serving a major portion of the Sunshine Coast, this Sewage Treatment Plant was assessed and an immediate need was identified to increase the capacity of the plant. This included upgrades to improve safety, reliability and operability, while taking into consideration future growth requirements.
A range of contractors, each specialists in their respective fields were engaged to provide the necessary infrastructure. As a part of this, Treadwell was selected to supply the specified FRP solution for their electrical switch room.
Project Challenges
- Exposure to highly corrosive fumes and gases.
- Quick, fast and safe access to an electrical switch room was required. Products had to be non-conductive and transparent to radio frequency.
- Working in tandem with multiple contractors demanded that a strict schedule be adhered to.

- FRP is simply fabricated and modified on site. This means there is no need for any hot works permit.
- Being lightweight and easy to install, FRP is very manageable during construction.
- Given the nature of FRP, any system utilising it is virtually maintenance free, keeping maintenance costs to a minimum.
