Anderson Road Jetty
Anderson Road Jetty
A new jetty was required to be installed in Cowes, Victoria. A departure from conventional materials, this Anderson Road Jetty was designed with prefabricated aluminium modules, supported by HDPE sleeved monopiles. Working in tandem with these materials, fibreglass reinforced plastic panels were used to provide the decking of the structure.
Treadwell was engaged to supply the FRP grating panels for the decking.
Project Challenges
- Structure was to be in an exposed marine environment.
- Installation was subject to weather conditions.
- Working with a contractor meant that there was an agreed upon timeline that had to be strictly adhered to. Delays would cause a negative ripple effect impacting all other parties.

- EX-Series® GratEX® FRP Square Mesh Grating & Stair Treads
Treadwell Solution
- GratEX® FRP grating panels are constructed with anti-slip and anti-corrosion properties, making it ideal for the marine environment.
- With ample stockholdings, Treadwell was able to manage the timeline expectations for this project.
- GratEX® stair treads are constructed with a solid leading edge nosing as a joint single component, ensuring increased sturdiness, even in high traffic situations.
- FRP is simply fabricated and modified on site. This means there is no need for any hot works permit.
- Being lightweight and easy to install, FRP is very manageable during construction.
- Given the nature of FRP, any system utilising it is virtually maintenance free, keeping maintenance costs to a minimum.
