NSW Sewage Treatment plant
NSW Sewage Treatment plant
Our client in New South Wales prides themselves on managing the environment and the health of their waterways towards high quality living in the state. They supply water, wastewater, recycled water and stormwater services to over 5 million people in Greater Sydney and the Illawarra.
One of their existing treatment plants required the baffle walls to be upgraded to help manage the flow of wastewater.
Treadwell was engaged to engineer, design and supply the FRP baffle wall solution for this new sewage treatment plant.
Project Challenges
- The selected material had to be able to withstand high live loading, while facilitating flow control.
- The selected material had to be low maintenance and long lasting, to suit pre-approved budgeting as well as have a long lifespan.
- The baffle walls had to be compliant to AS4030.

Treadwell Solution
- Treadwell’s EcoEX™ FRP baffle walls are constructed from premium European resin systems, providing superior service life over traditional materials.
- EcoEX™ baffle walls are paired with Treadwell’s ArchitEX™ structural beams to provide a complete FRP solution.
- Treadwell’s FRP baffle walls are interlocking deck boards that eliminate gaps between boards, allowing for a secure seal.
- EcoEX™ baffle walls are built to withstand repeated cyclic loading conditions and fluid dynamic pressures.
- These panels and beams are corrosion resistant and are cost effective, providing lower lifetime costs.
- Given the nature of FRP, any system utilizing it is virtually maintenance free, keeping maintenance costs to a minimum.
