Located in WA, this working sheep farm produces merino wool and functions as an educational hub for visitors and locals alike. Showing families the workings of a farm, there are scheduled sheep shearing shows that give children a hands-on experience. This farm receives high volumes of animals and visitors, and experiences high traffic and activity.
As a result, the existing wooden decking of the shed was deteriorating, and needed replacement. Treadwell was engaged to supply the FRP grating.
Project Challenges
- Chosen decking needed to be tough enough to handle highly concentrated point loadings, without having a rough surface to protect the animals from abrasions.
- Selected materials had to be easy to clean and maintain to adhere to hygiene standards.
- Downtime for installation and maintenance had to be kept to a minimum.
