Sydney Aquarium
Sydney Aquarium
Located in the heart of Darling Harbour, this public aquarium is an underwater marvel housing a diverse range of marine life and species. Visitors can immerse themselves in the different themed sections, walk through the ocean tunnel and learn about extremely endangered aquatic animals. A crowd favourite is the dugong enclosure. A pontoon needed to be installed to facilitate ease of access for authorised personnel. This included corrosion resistant decking as well as handrails.
Treadwell was engaged to supply the FRP products for this pontoon.
Project Challenges
- Products would be installed in corrosive marine environment.
- Installation would be done in an area with restricted accessibility.
- Due to the nature of the surroundings, selected products had to be installed without any hot works.
