Victoria Dock is part of the Franklin Wharf area in Hobart, Tasmania. Functioning as a working waterfront as well as a tourist attraction, the area is well-known for cafes and restaurants serving fresh seafood. This dock is one of the sites of the biannual Australian Wooden Boat Festival, celebrating Tasmania’s rich maritime culture and history.
Treadwell was engaged to supply the grating for this dock.
Project Challenges
- Decking would be in an outdoor marine environment, exposed to weather conditions and salt content.
- Installation was subject to weather conditions.
- Decking had to be anti-slip for user safety.
