Frp Pultrusions Used To Build Winch Tower

Facing the dual challenges of severe corrosion and strict weight limitations in Western Australia’s harsh coastal environment, the client required a reliable support structure for a heavy-duty winch. ArchitEX™ Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) open and closed sections were specified to deliver exceptional corrosion resistance and minimise structural weight, crucial in a region prone to cyclonic conditions.
The project demanded a structure capable of supporting a 5-tonne Safe Working Load (SWL). Treadwell’s design and development team partnered with the client’s engineers to create a custom FRP platform. This platform, engineered for strength and durability, was assembled using high-grade 316 stainless steel bracketry, ensuring long-term performance in corrosive conditions.
