Naturetread™ FRP Boardwalk At Snapper Point, South Australia

Snapper Point FRP Staircase 2015
Snapper Point FRP Staircase 2024

Original made of timber, the previous structure had deteriorated and was further damaged in a severe storm. This was replaced in 2015 by the NatureTREAD™ FRP boardwalk and staircase that are still standing today.

LIGHTWEIGHT PROPERTIES

FRP is lightweight, and has a high strength-to-weight ratio. In remote locations where accessibility is limited, FRP is the preferred choice as high volumes can be lifted by helicopter into site.

CORROSION RESISTANCE

Boasting excellent resistance to the harsh coastal environment, these photos, taken 9 years apart, show its resilience against coastal and environmental exposure. While there is unavoidable occurrence of natural lightening of the colour, the surface finish remains intact. There are no exposed glass fibres, ensuring user safety. The structure remains sturdy and robust.
