GratEX® FRP SOLUTIONS IN MILK PROCESSING PLANT

A milk processing plant undergoing expansion initiated a significant refurbishment to increase operational capacity. For this project, Treadwell’s FRP grating panels and stair treads were specified due to their high-quality properties in challenging environments.
Environmental Resistance: Built for Harsh Conditions
As an outdoor installation, corrosion resistance was a key concern. FRP’s exceptional ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions was paramount. This structure would face high humidity, fluctuating temperatures, UV exposure, and rain – conditions that rapidly deteriorate conventional materials, leading to increased maintenance and downtime.
Unlike metals that rust or warp, FRP is inherently resistant to moisture and temperature extremes, maintaining its structural integrity for long-term performance. This resilience reduces repair frequency and replacements, lowering operational costs and minimising production disruptions.
Customisation & Aesthetic Benefits
A significant advantage of FRP is its versatility and customisation options. FRP can be manufactured in various shapes, sizes, and colours to meet specific application needs, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. Treadwell FRP products integrate colour pigment directly into the substrate, ensuring consistent colour throughout without the need for regular painting or worrying about chipped sections.
For this project, the client selected a blue colour for the grating, adding a unique aesthetic appeal. This highlights how FRP can be tailored to meet specific requirements while offering superior environmental resistance.
